VoyCabulary was originally designed for the purpose of assisting
in medical research, and still serves this important purpose to this day.
Not for just the professionals. VoyCabulary was designed to allow EVERYONE an easier way to expand their knowledge and understanding of medical conditions--your own, or perhaps someone dear to you. Type a few medical words into the box on the main page, select the medical dictionary, and begin to research. If you don't wish to provide your own words, perhaps you have found a webpage on the condition--put the http://address of the page into VoyCabulary, select the medical dictionary, and click on any word to look it up. Read, read, and read. Even if you don't understand, keep reading. The more you read, the more your mind will begin to piece together its understanding. The OMD (Online Medical Dictionary) was chosen for use with VoyCabulary because... it's great. Its linking from one word to another, and the definitions allow you to quickly gather a ton of information. Read, and let your own mind process it. Don't worry if you don't understand--something will sink in. Ask questions. Ask your doctor. Get online and ask a search engine. Find out about the medical condition on Google's search engine. But study and research. The doctors aren't perfect; the more you know yourself, the more you can help yourself, your friend, your loved one and even your doctor(s) come to the right decision. Keep in mind, while usually the "best option" is chosen, it's important to understand yourself. Your future decisions rely upon your knowledge--and even doctors aren't perfect. Recently we had an experience where some supplements taken by a family member were considered "safe" by doctors--but in our own pursuit/study we found they interfered with the results of an important blood test. The doctors weren't aware of it--though their own internal hospital computer system contained the warning. Become a pro--become knowledgable in the condition. Many people have studied their own conditions, or become skilled and knowledgable on the conditions of their loved ones. You might not be able to obtain the studies of a doctor going through years of medical school, but NOONE has placed that as a limitation on your knowledge. Nobody said you cannot make discoveries, yourself. If you have any questions, contact me from the Contacts Page. |
